Marist-Marianist Renewal Programs for Various Age Groups

In an effort to respond to the various rhythms of ongoing formation, the General Chapter of 2001 asked that the General Administration “investigate collaboration with other religious congregations in developing specific ongoing formation programs, especially for our senior religious.” (41c)

Since 2003, the International Center for Marianist Formation has coordinated renewal programs for Marianist religious of various age groups in concert with the Marist Brothers of the Schools (FMS). These programs -- for French, Spanish/Portuguese and English language groups – are sponsored by the Marists. Marianists from all language groups have been participants and presenters along with guiding pilgrimages to Marianist Heritage sites.

The aim and the approach for all of the programs are similar with appropriate differences for the various age groups and the cultural sensibilities. The aim is to provide time and resources for reflection, learning and sharing on diverse aspects of our life. The approach involves time for personal and group prayer; conferences and discussion in the mornings; the afternoons are free for personal work and relaxation. There will also be a pilgrimage to the Marianist places of origin (e.g. Saragossa, Bordeaux, Agen, etc.) and cultural opportunities on free days.

If you are interested in this opportunity please contact your Unit Superior or Brother Tom Giardino, SM of the International Center for Marianist Formation for more information. icmf@notes.udayton.edu All participation needs the approval of your Unit Administration.
