Below you will find the documentation for The Spirit of Saragossa
directed retreat program for use with members preparing for perpetual profession.
This program was developed primarily for the vowed religious, but it may have
use for other persons and groups in the Marianist Family, with appropriate adaptation.
The team that worked on this program, under the direction of the International
Center for Marianist Formation, was: Mary Louise Foley, FMI (USA); Héctor Darío
Castelblanco, SM (CE); Emilio Cárdenas, SM (ZA); and Martin Solma, SM (EA).

- The offices of the International Center for Marianist
formation were the site of the Meeting of the Steering Committee
which is charged witht he promotion and advancement of the
thirty-day Marianist retreat known as "The Spirit of
Saragossa." At the 7 - 9 July 2008 meeting, the Committee
reviewed the past instances and future plans for the retreat.
In order to assist in the continuing formation of directors
capable of conducting this retreat, several initiatives are
being considered, e.g.: a manual for retreat directors and
another training workshop.

- While the full format for this retreat is 30 days, it has
been adapted to a 6, 8, and 10 day format. Samples of
these formats in the original language of the retreat are
already on the web site and others will gradually be added to
the web site along with resources developed for these retreats
(also in the original language).
